Julie is co-owner of Treat Yourself Well Sydney, a Clinical Psychologist and Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Her clinical training and practice is in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with the integration of mindfulness and acceptance based therapies (ACT). Julie enjoys helping individuals, and couples overcome a variety of difficulties and life events. Through a collaborative and empathic approach, Julie aims to equip people with an increased sense of empowerment, self compassion and an improved quality of health and well-being. Julie has been in practice with individuals and couples since 1999.

Julie is dedicated to redirecting the often wasted emotional energy that can be absorbed in the notion and strive for beauty, and on popular dieting approaches. She is experienced with body image concerns, emotional eating and a variety of adult psychological presentations. One of Julie's particular interests is working with people suffering from body dysmorphic disorder (fear of unattractiveness) and other forms of body image dissatisfaction. She likes to explore why people may seek cosmetic or dermatological procedures and thinks it's important to discuss the expectations of a procedure prior to undertaking it. Julie completed her Doctoral research on this topic.
