Emma is a clinical psychologist, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a member of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She has experience treating a broad range of issues, in public and private sectors. Emma has extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Emma has also developed a strong interest in acceptance and mindfulness based therapies, in particular Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Emma is a facilitator of change, committed to assisting clients with self-exploration and practical skill development to empower them to make positive life changes. Emma has therapeutic interest in body image-related concerns and problematic eating. She aims to help people build self-acceptance and self-compassion, to honour, respect and act kindly toward themselves. Emma also has a strong interest in health psychology and adjustment to physical illness, including exploring the impact of illness or injury on self-acceptance and body image. She has completed research investigating psychological aspects of sport, exercise and eating disorders.

Emma has interests in several areas including:

  • Body image concerns, body dysmorphic disorder
  • Problematic eating
  • Non-dieting weight management
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Depression and mood disorders
  • Adjustment to difficult life events including illness and injury
  • Grief and loss issues
  • Trauma

Emma is available for appointments Tuesdays from 10 am - 5 pm
