Fees & Medicare
Fees range from $200 - $250 for a 50 - 55 minute session for Registered Psychologists.
Couples counselling session fees are $290 for a sixty minute session. Please confirm with your private health insurance for couple therapy rebates. Medicare do not offer rebates for this service.
We also have Provisional Psychologists at our practice who are in the process of gaining full registration. They receive extensive supervision internally and externally and are a wonderful addition to our team. They demonstrate strong commitment and interest to our areas of passion and interest. As there are no medicare rebates available for provisional psychologists, our fees are adjusted accordingly.
Please note that payment is required at the time of your appointment. Telehealth and phone sessions must be paid prior to the appointment. Unfortunately we are unable to extend credit in any circumstances. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours’ notice when changing or cancelling appointments to avoid a cancellation fee.
If you need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, Treat Yourself Well Sydney asks that you do so more than 24 hours before an appointment. A 100% cancellation fee will apply if this criteria is not met.
Medicare Rebates for Psychology Services
Under Medicare you can receive a substantial rebate for psychological treatment, which makes seeing a psychologist much more affordable.
All Treat Yourself Well Sydney clinical psychologists have a Medicare Provider number, which means they are eligible to participate in the Medicare initiative. Under this initiative you can receive a substantial rebate for seeing a registered psychologist ($88.75 per session) or a clinical psychologist ($129.25 per session), which makes seeing a registered psychologist or a clinical psychologist much more affordable.
If you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare, you will need a referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Make an appointment with your GP to discuss the issues you have been facing. Your GP will then raise a Mental Health Care plan with Medicare. Please make sure you bring to your first appointment the referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan so that you'll be able to claim the rebate. After the Mental Health Care Plan has been raised, as of the 9 October 2020, you are eligible for up to 20 psychology sessions per calendar year under the Care plan.
Please note, you are entitled to choose the psychologist or clinical psychologist you want to treat you. For more information about Medicare rebates and psychology services click on the link below: www.psychology.org.au/medicare/fact_sheet/
