Consultation Fees

Consultation Fees

 

Fees range from $230 - $280 for a 50 - 55 minute individual session. 

Fees for parenting support/ Couples counselling session fees range between $250 are $290 for a 50 minute session.

Please note that medicare do not currently provide rebates for couples or family sessions. Please confirm with your private health insurance for couple therapy rebates.

We also have Provisional Psychologists at our practice who are in the process of gaining full registration. They receive extensive supervision internally and externally and are a wonderful addition to our team. They demonstrate strong commitment and interest to our areas of passion and interest.  As there are no medicare rebates available for provisional psychologists, our fees are adjusted accordingly. 

Please note that payment is required at the time of your appointment. Telehealth and phone sessions must be paid prior to the appointment. Unfortunately we are unable to extend credit in any circumstances.

Assessment Fees

Fees for educational, cognitive, ADHD/Autism assessments vary. We request an initial consultation to discuss the nature and purpose of the assessment to ensure that we tailor the assessment process to your needs. It is really important to us that we hear your reasons, needs and desires for assessment and discuss the best approach. Following the initial consultation , we will prepare a service proposal outlining the assessment tools, the fees, and time required.

 

Fees vary and range between $240 and $270 per hour of testing and reporting and the number of testing hours will vary on your individual needs.

Cancellations

 

Please note that our cancellation policy applies to all appointments. If you need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, we ask for at least 48 hours notice. This is to ensure that we are able to contact people who need an appointment and are on our waiting list. We do understand that the unforeseen and unplanned does occur and we ask you to contact as soon as possible to let us know. 

 

Where appointments are cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, a full 100% of the session fee will charged. 
 

Rebates for Psychology Consultation

If you belong to a private health fund, you may be able to claim a rebate for psychological services. The exact amount of the rebate will depend upon your level of cover, and the rebate varies between health funds. It is best to check with your fund for an exact per session rebate figure. 

 

Under the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme, Medicare Australia provide a limited number of rebates per calendar year when you have received a referral from your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. 

Medicare rebates are between $89.65 and $131.65 per 50min session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year with an additional 80% of the gap rebated when you  /your family reach your medicare safety net. 

If you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare, eligibility is determined by your medical provider and  you will need a referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Make an appointment with your GP to discuss the issues you have been facing. Your GP will then raise a Mental Health Care plan with Medicare. Please make sure you bring to your first appointment the referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan so that you'll be able to claim the rebate. After the Mental Health Care Plan has been raised, as of the 9 October 2020 and ending on 31 December 2022, you are eligible for up to 20 psychology sessions per calendar year under the Care plan.

Medicare – Eating Disorders

 

Eligible patients are  able to receive a Medicare rebate for the development of an Eating Disorders Treatment Plan (EDTP) by a medical practitioner in general practice, psychiatry or paediatrician.

Patients with an (EDTP) are eligible for comprehensive treatment and management services for a 12 month period including:

-          Up to 20 dietetic services

-          Up to 40 eating disorder psychological treatment services (EDPT services)

-          Review and ongoing management services

 

An EDPT service includes mental health treatment services which are provided by an allied health professional or a medical practitioner in general practice with appropriate mental health training.

All our psychologists at Treat Yourself Well Sydney are appropriately trained and have experience in the treatment and management of Eating Disorders. Many of our psychologists are Credentialed Eating Disorders Clinicians.

Telehealth- COVID-19 - Telehealth for everyone 

As of 6 April 2020 - Telehealth became available for everyone in response to Covid-19. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) you are now able to receive medicare rebatable telehealth services. This means that we will charge our usual fee and you can claim your medicare rebate - just as you did with face to face therapy pre COVID-19.
