Parenting Support

Parenting is a tough gig! Where is this win win situation we hear about?

We value you as parents and are here to support you as much as your child. We can provide one -off consultations or regular parenting support sessions aimed at supporting you and your family to enhance your connection with each other and support each other through challenges while learning about differences. If you would like to hear more about how we can support you, please contact us on info@treatyourselfwell.com.au

Parenting is one of the most rewarding — and one of the most challenging — roles a person can take on. No matter your child’s age or stage, it's normal to face moments of doubt, frustration, worry, or exhaustion. At times, parenting can feel overwhelming, and many parents find themselves struggling with how to best support their child while also looking after their own wellbeing.

You're not alone — and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Common Parenting Concerns and Challenges

Every family is different, but some common parenting challenges we support include:

  • Emotional regulation difficulties in children or teens

  • Anxiety, school refusal, or social challenges

  • Navigating neurodiversity, including ADHD or autism diagnoses

  • Parenting after separation or family changes

  • Sleep, feeding, or toileting issues

  • Feeling burnt out, disconnected, or unsure what to do next

Sometimes the challenges are related to your child’s development, and sometimes it’s about how you're coping as a parent. Both matter — and both deserve care and support.

How we can help....

Our psychologists provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what’s happening in your family life. We take a compassionate and evidence-based approach to help you:

  • Understand your child’s behaviour and emotional needs

  • Strengthen your parenting confidence and connection

  • Learn practical tools for responding to child's behaviours or needs

  • Support your child’s mental health and development

  • Care for your own wellbeing — because parenting is hard work not matter what stage your child is at...

Whether you’re a new parent, co-parenting, raising teens, or anything in between, our approach is always tailored to your family’s unique needs, values, and strengths.

Support that meets you where you are...

We work collaboratively with you — and where appropriate, with your child or teen — to build on what’s already working, gently explore what’s not, and create sustainable strategies for change. Some parents come in for just a few sessions for guidance and reassurance, while others benefit from more ongoing support.

You don’t have to be in crisis to seek help. Sometimes a small shift in understanding or approach can make a big difference for you and your family.

If you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or simply needing someone to talk to, we’re here to help.
